Hi can anyone tell me how to stop so many jobs being downloaded,in my Queue on the PC I have 47 jobs, I have a iCore 7 processor, running win 7, however in the last couple of days I had to replace my BIOS backup battery, so the date on the computer BIOS and in Windows reset, to a few years previous, so I reset the clock and the Time, however when I opened up the World Community Grid, I had 47 Jobs, including the 8 my computer was working on, I fear that a lot of Jobs will not now get completed in the deadline time, I have left the PC on 48 Hrs now but the list of jobs does not decrease from the 47 jobs, any help would be helpful, I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Grid software when the system date was correct but nothing has sorted it yet.
Thanks for any help. |

On BOINC manager go to the advanced view. Under "tools" go to "computing preferences". There should be a tab marked "network usage". On the network usage screen there will be a two buffer settings. I would suggest setting the "minimum work buffer" to 1 (meaning one day) and leaving the "additional work buffer" set to 0. After working through the current queue, adjust them so you get the number you desire. It may take several attempts to get the number with which you are comfortable.
