rose Wow, FightAIDS@Home Phase 2 Playing Nice!

Now, you can get FAH2 to play nice with others! smile

Just set its limit to the number of WUs you want to run at one time! Of course, it has no buffer, but that's okay. The other project(s) you are running is the buffer!

It's a wonderful change than now applies to all projects. Now I can select more projects and don't need to worry about 1 overtaking the others. FAH2 case in point!

Re: Wow, FightAIDS@Home Phase 2 Playing Nice!

FA@H2 are kind of greedy and want to run first, so I didn't want them to totally take over. The limiting by project is a nice feature. BOINC has four profiles and I have five machines of four different threads, so it will work out.

Home 1 for 4 thread machine
Default 2 for 6 thread machines
School 3 for 8 thread machine
Work 4 for 12 thread machine

This way there will be threads available to run other things, and with a short queue of only FA@H2 and HSTB, I occasionally add some MIP if I am close to running out of work.
I might be able to snag some more HSTB this way and not have to watch it so closely. SCC is in a gap, but is still selected. Then I can just let things run and leave room for any HSTB that pop up.

Next, I can put a numerical limit on MIP and SCC that don't fill the days in my queue.
I have reached my goals for the other projects unless the others finish. Then I can mix them all
