Re: Is anybody still getting work?

Oh dear, looks like a late return from the previous cruncher caused yours to be killed since it hadn't started because the server had what it needed.

That is why I priorities HSTB WUs, if I am at the computer. My resend counted, even though it wasn't needed. Still got some waiting for wingmen.

Jean-David

Is that correct what widdershins suggested? If you had started it, then the techs need to be notified.

Incidentally, if you click on 'Results Status' and select 'TB' and 'Server Aborted', you will get the whole history of that WU.

How do you prioritize HSTB, against all other WUs? cool

Re: Is anybody still getting work?

The number of returns is now falling as crunchers are running out of work. My cache will run dry in 17 hours.

My cache is usually dry. I got that task yesterday that was then canceled. So dry again. I allowed some Zika tasks in to use up some of the spare CPU cycles.

I suppose so.

What do you mean, if I had started it? It is up to the boinc client to start it, and it was running four Zika tasks at the time that I got because there were no more HST tasks available.
Here is the history of that WU. I infer it did not have enough results before it sent me that WU (or it would not have sent it), but somehow it got enough after sending it to me. Yet that additional WU does not appear in the list.

Re: Is anybody still getting work?

In my first year of crunching I got, I think, 11 HSTB WUs. In the month since then, I've shot up to 29. I'm not finagling work request times, or my queue, or anything. It seems to be dumb luck.

Maybe I'll get that bronze badge before too many more years go by :)

The very primitive way I'm afraid, go into the Boinc client's task list select all the non-HSTB units and hit the suspend button. HSTB units start, then restart all the non-HSTB units. Unless any of those were running as high priority (tip -stay away from the short deadline Aids WU whilst hunting TB units) then the HSTB units will continue to run and the others will restart as HSTB's finish.

Why restart I hear you ask, well if there is even 1 suspended WU in your cache your client won't receive new work, so if you want the chance of more HSTB on the cache backfill calls to the server you've got to unsuspend all WU's

So I'm getting dribs and drabs now. Currently have 8 in my caches.
