If I may answer for VietOZ:
You achieve these high RAC by running Linux, which is way faster for some projects than windows. And you run OET, Zika or SCC which currently give the highest points. |

You can't go wrong with his advice. As for the Dram amount for my 1950X ... yes I have 16gb on both of mine. I have moved most of my rigs to Ubuntu under VBox (as I have to keep primary Windows there) and even that shows a significant increase in processing rate (reduced task times and higher points). The improvement isn't as huge as under native Linux, but it's still about 50% better. The 2990WX produced ~280k WCG points under Windows and is doing now ~400k under Linux in VM. Note that not all threads are utilized for WCG, about 6 are doing other work.

Hi. Its still that rac on Viet machine so hi? Witch linux distro he use? I run 2990wx on other project but numbers here are interesting. Under native linux is it worth to try. I use 2133mhz ddr4 ram but wcg is not much depend on ram as i know.

I'm running Linux Mint 19.
----------------------------------------As for now, you'll see the RAC on that machine goes down. It's because I'm running 2 instances of BOINC, 32 threads each. That why you see I have 4 2990WX machines show on my account, but in reality I only have 2. As for why I'm doing this? It's because I'm about to bunker for a challenge. And I think you know what a bunker is right Jozef J?  |

2 instances of 32 threads each is still the same as 1 default BOINC instance of 64 threads for a 2990WX. Do you mean 32 cores? 1 instance of 64 threads on OET will last me about 3 days After it's done I'll have around 1k WUs ready to upload. Then I'll have to create a new instance and get trusted with WCG (losing time here) Then lock it down for another 3 days to get another 1k of WUs. 2 instances of 32 threads on OET running simultaneously to get both trusted with WCG Then just download WUs and lock it down for 6 days. At the end I still end up with 2k of WUs ready for upload. Just save me some time in between |
