I don't know if this is the correct place for this question, so if not tell where is and I will go.
The question is why did boinc 7.6.31 load in a new install of linux? All my other boinc installations are 7.2.4.2. I am running boinc on linux only machines. To burn in a new system I installed boinc for the load. Some time after installing boinc I noticed the version number. I can't find 7.6.31 on any download list. The installation of software was done rather quickly and with little attention so I don't even remember how I installed boinc. I am just curious as to how this happened, it seems to working correctly so there is no need to change anything. Thanks for any enlightenment. dondee |

Which Linux distribution are you running?
You will probably have the latest version installed from the repositories. On Fedora, the distribution that I'm running, the latest BOINC version is 7.10.2. |

I am using Mint 17.3 on the older machines and 18.3 on the new one.
I see in package manager 7.2.42 is listed for 17.x and 7.6.31 is listed for 18.x. I thought it all was the same listing regardless of the version of the operating system. But 7.6.31 is not listed on the manual install page, that is what threw me off. Not that it really matters now. Thanks for the help. ![]() |
