A few days ago, when boincmgr was started, sometimes new Notices would be flagged (for example, "Notices (5)", but viewing the Notices showed that it was only a duplicated list of the old (already viewed) Notices. This only happened about 5% of the time when boincmgr was started, but it happened often enough that I reported it to Fedora Bugzilla. I thought I'd check this forum to see if anyone else has experienced this, or if anyone has a ready explanation? I often logout / login to my desktop, and have boincmgr set to autostart on login, if that is relevant.

If you select the "Notices" tab and click on the most recent message anywhere in the latest message text and return to "Tasks" tab, the notice goes away. However, if you have multiple machines on BOINC crunching away on World Community Grid tasks, you might have to repeat the process on each machine. These notices are local, not global.

The problem with duplicated notices persisted for a couple of months and then went away a couple of months ago. My system is routinely updated every morning. My Boinc software last got updated on 2018-06-19, which probably started the problem. Have no idea which update fixed the problem.
