slow processor q

i feel like sometimes it takes my computer much longer than other computers to process the data.

How many computers run the same information? Sometimes i feel like my computer might be sending them info they got a day ago from someone else.

i guess my question is : If a computer processes slow, is it actually useful for this project or is it just wasting time giving the server data it already has?

Re: slow processor q

Hi

Your results are, of course, valuable however long they take.
I think the redundancy is 3x for this project.

As long as you are completing well within the timeout period..circa 2 weeks, you need not worry.

The only system that is too slow is a system that's turned off!!!

Happy crunching smile

Don't worry about it. This project favors slow computers. As long as you finish within the timeout, your slow computer will get a buncha' points.

My slowest system currently turns something in about every 4 days, and receives 1000-2000 points. Fast systems only get 50-150 points per workunit.
