Hello!
Today I changed my AMD64 to X2 with dualcore and it seems that WCGrid could only stress one PU!? Any suggestions/comments? |

Hello UFranke,
This morning bbover3 posted in the SlashDot thread: Linux is coming in November. Once we have our own Agent to play with and we can modify the code ourselves, without license restrictions, we will be able to start adding any useful modifications we want. But I am not guessing how long it will take before they start showing up in Windows. We have a lot of other fish to fry. mycrofth |

How about running an instance of Folding or FaD?

It should be possible to run VMWare with 2 WinXP-Instances and there is WCGrid running.
Do I need a new device (2nd brand new WCGrid Installation) for this scenario or can I use a copy of my old WCGrid? |

I think you will need a new installation - but I'm sure one of the more technically minded will be along soon

Yes, it is best to create a new installation for each instance of the WCG Agent. I am a bit confused about just why, so I will not attempt to spread my confusion.

Each installation is assigned its own internal ID which changes over time to keep track of what it is working on. So, if you clone the files, at the next communication(s), the server will see that the agent is returning the same work a second time or other problem, and thus it eventually sets the agent state such that it needs to be reregistered again.
So, please register each instance separately. |
