This is very, very old news, GeraldRube
Seven year-old news. Where did you dig that up? In the history book? Unfortunately, mistakes happen. Don't they in your health system in the USA? I myself am not an organ donor - I think my organs have been busy for too, too many years already I am, however, a donor of my dead body ..... so the doctors in spe will have something to dissect here ![]() |

I posted the site--
----------------------------------------https://www.zerohedge.com/political/denmark-s...r-torchings-gang-violence Denmark: Shootings, Car Torchings, & Gang Violence On September 24, the US embassy in Denmark published a security alert. It warned US citizens in Copenhagen that: "The Danish National Police urge individuals living in or visiting the areas of Nørrebro, Ishøj, and Hundige to exercise heightened awareness at all times due to a recent increase in gun violence. Copenhagen Police have instituted a stop-and-search zone in a large area covering Nørrebro. The ordinance – which will run through September 30 – allows police officers to stop and search anyone within the area without cause". The alert also encouraged US citizens to "keep a low profile", "do not physically resist any robbery attempt" and "use caution when walking or driving at night". |

Better safe than sorry, GeraldRube, don't you agree?
We do have violent gangs fighting for the drug market share in certain neighborhoods. Mostly they kill or injure each other, though .... Yesterday, we had an incident at a psychiatric ward in a city 20 miles from me where two gang members 'liberated' their boss who was hospitalized there. They smuggled in hand weapons concealed in cake boxes and held up the employees These two helpers have been arrested, whereas the boss is still at large |

![]() During the NATO meeting being held these days in London, England, Denmark's Prime Minister, Mette Frederiksen, met with US President Donald Trump - Trumpf in my pronunciation. According to the press meeting held by Mrs Frederiksen after the meeting, it was a good and positive meeting where the close relationship between Denmark and the United States of America was confirmed. The press wanted to know about this summer's dispute about Mr Trump's wish to buy Greenland to which Mrs Frederiksen responded that there is no conflict whatsoever between Denmark and the United States of America - nor as far as Greenland is concerned - neither should there be, Mrs Frederiksen repeated, underlining once again that the USA is Denmark's most important ally. ... well, she has a leg card if need bee ![]() |

and there is Lola another brown-skined mermaid from Denmark:
----------------------------------------Stone Age chewing gum holds clues to the life...who lived 5,700 years ago Stone Age chewing gum holds clues to the life of a young girl who lived 5,700 years ago so much information coming from her microbiome as a scientist said """Our ancestors lived in a different environment and had a different lifestyle and diet, and it is therefore interesting to find out how this is reflected in their microbiome,'" Schroeder said. "It can help us understand how pathogens have evolved and spread over time, and what makes them particularly virulent in a given environment. At the same time, it may help predict how a pathogen will behave in the future, and how it might be contained or eradicated.""" so the interest of Microbiome Immunity Project at WCG ......who knows? ![]() |

![]() Thank you very much for this piece of information, alged. This is news to me. I found an article from 'Videnskab.dk' (science.dk) which has a lovely picture of Lola. The archaeologists have worked in the area for several years, and it is said to be a treasure trove for them. It has become accessible because the area was drained in preparation for construction of a tunnel between Denmark and Germany. ![]() |

Denmark has
6,800 wind turbines 4,200 are taller than 80 feet with a capacity of 25 kWh or more 15% of those are older than 25 years ~ some 630 old wind turbines 10-15 times annually a wind turbine breaks, sometimes more spectacularly than others In 2015 a wind turbine ran amok and, well, committed suicide. The video shows how: https://www.dr.dk/nyheder/regionale/midtvest/...ordan-kan-de-egentlig-det Today another one – age 25 – decided to run out of control. The police said trying to stop it would be like assisting a ship in dire straits and cordoned off the country roads just in case https://www.dr.dk/nyheder/indland/politi-om-l...jaelpe-et-skib-i-havsnoed The police may have said the magic words, because before dark - currently the sun sets at 3:51 pm a rather simple brake was put on the poor fellow. The Coast Guard's resque squad at the North Sea not far from the spinning wind turbine had five emergency rockets with heavy rope = five shots and you're out. Firing the second one they succeeded. The rope tangled itself into the blades and calmed everything - and the police reopened the country roads. https://www.dr.dk/nyheder/indland/se-videoen-...ed-noedraketter-og-reb#!/ At the time of writing this, our wind turbines supply 3,370 MW of the total consumption of 5,051 MW and the wind is not all that forceful. Just some 10 meters/second. Just some 10 meters/second - now you can have fun calculating what this will be in miles/hour ![]() |

So, question about those turbines.... do you have problems with bird strikes?

Thank you for reading my post, Citizen422 and thank you for asking an interesting question I never thought about it myself, but looked it up. I tell you, it's a jungle! Most of what I find is based on emotions and 'religion' pro and contra as far as wind turbines are concerned. This article, however, was quoted in Danish in a publication I trust, It deals with a Canadian study and it has a table that: "shows selected causes of bird death out of an annual total of 186,429,553 estimated deaths caused by human activity." Cats - feral and domestic - are very dangerous if you are a bird They killed 134,480,000 of those birds. Road vehicle collision killed 9,814,000 birds whereas wind energy collisions 'just' took the lives of 13,060 birds. It's interesting to note that power lines alone were responsible for 16,810,000 bird deaths. Another way to put is is: "wind farms and nuclear power stations are responsible each for between 0.3 and 0.4 fatalities per gigawatt-hour (GWh) of electricity while fossil-fuelled power stations are responsible for about 5.2 fatalities per GWh" At Denmark's National Test Center for wind turbines in a remote corner of the country they have observed "that migrant birds avoid the test center with a safe margin, and that bats seem to benefit from the many new ponds that have been created in the area." ![]() |

Wind is becoming more popular here, and there's a factory nearby that manufactures blades for turbines like the one pictured in your last post.
However, some time last year one of the birds struck and killed by a turbine happened to be a bald eagle, which sparked a heated debate about wind power. |
