I've been running the program for about 3 hours already but it still displays 0.0% though the protein and scores are running. The protein picture is also constantly changing and the CPU time is running. Usually I take about 20hrs to complete one cycle but its already 3 hrs and still 0%?

My guess is that there are some large workunits out there. I am at 95% of just my second workunit and it has taken 33h 5min so far.
(and my computer is based on a P4 3.4Ghz)Be patient! ![]() |

Well what kind of processor do you have? If your run under windows XP make sure that when you check the processes list that this program gets some cpu power. If not, what's taking the cpu power then? |

I'm using Windows 2000 with Intel PIII 1Ghz and the WCGrid_Rosetta. program is using about almost all the CPU power according to task manager (99) I've tried restarting the computer but it gets even worst, the CPU time resets to 0! I closed the program by right clicking the tray icon > Exit. Then I shutdown for 20 mins and started it again. |

I was just going to post a new thread about this. It seems each work unit is a different size, my first one finished in 13 hours, now I'm on an hour and a half and I'm only 3% finished. They must be different sizes.

It's very possible your work unit is bigger, I have been searching the site to see if I can find anything, but I am wondering if the amount of space you allocate for WCG is associated with what size work unit you get. If you think it's too slow, you can always quit the application, lose what has been done and download a new one, though I don't think WCG would appreciate us doing that everything the work unit takes more time. There is some interesting information on the main page of WCG, check out all the FAQ sections and other info there.

But I don't think you can download a new work unit unless you reinstall the whole thing again, but is it not odd that even if the work unit is bigh, it should at least have like 0.1% complete? But mines showing a complete 0.0% ![]() |

Anyone also had this problem before? The program has been running for 4 hrs and the CPU time is increasing but the percentage completed is still 0.0% even though the protein image is constantly changing?
