I was not aware that BOINC had a throttle control based on heat of host. tell me more. I have used TThrottle with great success for this purpose. For a laptop I've used a cool pad with fans or sometimes just slightly elevate to ensure intake fan is not blocked. Also, I've been able to reduce the temp of a laptop but blowing out the dust with caned air through the intake and output air ports +1 |

A can of compressed air does wonders on these small little guys.
----------------------------------------Be sure you know where air intakes are too - on my samsung it yanks air in through the keyboard for instance. The other day was super windy and a lot of dust accumulated. When the wind died down and things heated up it was hitting 90c and underclocking to 1.3 ghz. Ran compressed air into the keyboard and around the hinge and we're back down to the normal, around 75c.
Crunching for the betterment of human kind and the canines who will always be our best friends.

Just make sure that you don't overspin your fan.
----------------------------------------My IBM laptop has a feature if it's overspin it will report fan error & not work! :/ |
