FAH2 Win 8.1 errors

Many of the FAH2 WUs are resends. I am running them on an IMAC running Sierra and a Lenova Think Station running Linux Mint. I have begun to look at them to see why are being resent. So far most of them are from WU errors run initially on Win 8.1 machines.

Microsoft Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64 Edition, (06.03.9600.00) 714 Error

Just wondering if this is a known problem.

Re: FAH2 Win 8.1 errors

Well, a previously-reported problem, but not one with any tech response here yet sad

I did some checking and the error rate for Windows 8.1 (and Windows in general) is well within the normal range. There also isn't a particular user that accounts for an abnormally high percentage of the errors. Keep in mind, that although the actual error rate is low, a higher percentage of your work units are going to be resends when your host is a reliable host.

Sorry to labour the point, but are both of your answers still the same for specifically Microsoft Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64 Edition, (06.03.9600.00)?
Errors from that OS continue to roll in here:
SCC1_ 0001011_ Bct-E_ 30045_ 0-- Microsoft Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64 Edition, (06.03.9600.00) 708 Error 8/30/17 12:03:15 8/30/17 12:23:41 0.00 35.0 / 0.0

Re: FAH2 Win 8.1 errors

If the system works to spec, they'd all see 'This computer has finished a daily quota of 1 tasks?', i.e. 1 task allowed in 24 hours, and if failed, no more till tomorrow. The 65K USD question is, what's the success rate for that particular OS versionm, and is it this VINA science only? If 50%, then that's what it is, and the monster will continue to be fed, piece meal.

Re: FAH2 Win 8.1 errors

I was just curious. Currently my 2 computers have a total of 13 WUs, 10 of them are resends. They are a mix of _1s, _2s, and _3s. All of them have errored on at least 1 Win8.1 computer. Since I don't have many FAH2 WUs, I tend to look at them more often. I like to look at reruns to see why they failed. In these WUs, 7 were "required privilege not held by client", and 3 "can't get shared memory segment. As i said, I was just curious.

tonyh205,

That error is from SCC1 which is different than the original post, but I went ahead and checked for SCC1 also to be safe. For SCC1 with the OS name/version Microsoft Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64 Edition, (06.03.9600.00), the _real_ error rate is <1% (this excludes errors such as no response, unstarted late workuniit, etc that would also generate resends). For SCC1/Windows 8.1 in general the real error rate is also <1%. For SCC/all Windows in general the real error rate is <2%. The error message you posted above would fall into that real error rate.
