confused Why 'Server Abort' a task this early?

Why 'Server Abort' this task @ 06:44:43, when it was sent through to me just 41 minutes earlier? As my computer is pretty reliable when it comes to FAH2, I'm sure I'd have been able to get it crunched and returned within the 4 days my machine had been given...

Obviously yours is then the last in circulation of the no-more-than 5 copies rule, when the last turned error, the first was invalid, and 2 have a no reply mark (though with runtime from trickles it seems, but clearly way overdue). Clint would ask 'Go ahead, make my day?'... You may risk computing a dud, if you will.

Thanks SekeRob - personally, I think I'd have taken that chance (if I'd have gotten the option), based on 2 reasons; 1. the reliability of my machine, and 2. the scarcity of FAH2 WU's (my machine is currently crunching 4, with just 1 in reserve - with a 1.5 day cache, i.e., it's constantly on the brink of having spare CPU's).

Re: Why 'Server Abort' a task this early?

There used to be the 70% rule at 72 hours from sent, but the _1 and _2 were not complete, no pardon, no flex rule at 96 hours. One could speculate if the remaining trickles would have been delivered without further delay. One can pile up a whole bunch more exception rules, but... (a whole essay of argument one could develop, if wantin')

Re: Why 'Server Abort' a task this early?

I recently had a job server abort. I am pleased this happened as I would have been really disappointed if I had started the job and received no run-time towards my 2 year badge or points.

As I said, I'd have liked the chance to take that risk - after all, some you win, some you loose.
