If you are referring to the fact that we experienced a problem on 29 September and then again today, that is true. On 29 September, the World Community Grid techs indicated that the cause was likely a network problem and that they had tuned the servers so that the impact would not be so great in the future. I am told that the outage today was related to the maintenance process and that it was not a re-occurance of the problems of 29 September. If, however, you have an agent that has been paused for 3 days, please use the "Contact Us" link which you will find at the bottom of most (if not all) of the World Community Grid web pages except in the forum. The techs have been most helpful to others having similar problems.

I just started i cant get any tasks my modem is at 50,333Kb so its not under 28Kb i dont have a firewall so thats not the problem no ports needed

and i dont think you can but can you make WC work all the time so if im just reading emails it would still be working

and some info you might need im not running XP im on 98 and im pretty sure im conneting to the sever it says recieving 0 of 0 bytes from sever... then after about 10 sec of that it says agent paused

Please check to see how much real memory you have in your machine. The minimum per system requirements for the Human Proteome Folding project is 128MB. This is often another reason for the paused agent.
