Hi I have been using the community for som years, and I would like to know if anyone know what cpu is best for calculating the different research grids in here. I have used an Intel processor with 4 cores. is a xeon faster ?? or AMD's new processor ?? any suggestion. Regards Boxtech, Alex Just. Denmark Depends what you want to achieve, there are different goals: 1. badge goals -> go with low powered CPUs with most cores 2. points goals & results returned -> go with high speed, high powered CPUs with most cores Different families of CPUs (for example intel's Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge, Haswell or Skylake give some different speeds, different chipsets, different memories, etc.) give different examples of that. & that also depends on what money you want to invest? So give us your preference of the intel (or AMD, which I'm not too familiar with) family of CPUs you want to use & give us your goals criteria - we give you back suggestions. ![]() |
