Well, I think you are barking on the wrong tree.
----------------------------------------I am almost sure we can receive the updates and information only from scientists, not from IBM/WCG. WCG/IBM has (probably) something like NDA signed with research teams and can not disclose any information about its sub-project w/o approval from them. So, if you are pissed (I certainly am), channel your anger to the right people. Not to WCG's. BTW: all of you are here long enough to remember how HFCC scientists have communicated with us: "no-picture-no-sound". Why do you think the same persons will behave differently in their new project? Cheers and keep shrubbing. NI! ![]() Crunching@Home since January 13 2000. Shrubbing@Home since January 5 2006 ![]() |

Well, in the industry it's easy to program a robot to change for human these days.
----------------------------------------Why is it so hard to program a "mail messinger system" for all the participants in the project?! :/ |

I totally agree with you on this matter. They could ask an intern or someone else being able to spent a couple of seconds on jolting down an info post for all of us out here, letting us know of the progress(?) on what we are contributing to. I do not know if it makes much sense though, but the majority of the participants on this project come from the European continent and not US.
PS... I'm 47yrs old and I still have all my three old Lenovo-prior Thinkpads up and running swell because they are true workhorses! |

In response to branjo, we're ALL busy (after all, everyone only has 24 hrs in a day), it's just a case of priorities - and, by the looks of things, spending 10 mins/week coming on here and letting us know that the projects scientists are still here, doesn't look to be one of them. Nowadays, this could be done in any amount of downtime they have - as, afterall, who HASN'T got a smartphone available to them - so they don't even need access to their computer to respond.
----------------------------------------No one is asking for a whole chapter and verse of what they've been up to or asking them to answer each and every question that's posed (of which, I don't think that there's that many of them anyhow), but just a comment or two to "keep the engine room stoked with enthusiasm" would certainly help. This also applies to the WCG techs - as I'm finding that they're just as 'non-communicative'. It doesn't take them long to say "Yes, we know that the SCC timelines are way off, there IS more work coming, so the project will likely be extended. As to how long, we as yet don't know - but as soon as we've got a more accurate figure, we'll adjust the estimated completion date accordingly". BTW, this whole post took less than 5 minutes to type and submit. ![]() |

Fully agree with you gb009761 (as well as with others) that communication is a key. I also expect (and yes, I demand) a (little) bit more info-sharing about progress of WCG sub-projects.
----------------------------------------Just pointing out that we have to receive (and to demand) such regular information from research teams, because they are the entities who owns the rights to publish them. We can not expect WCG people can share information with us if they are not allowed to do it. NI! ![]() Crunching@Home since January 13 2000. Shrubbing@Home since January 5 2006 ![]() |

Even POTUS finds time to tweet now and then, even if very few want to hear what he says
