I found a funny bug on the results page.
One of my projects is currently showing 9 pages of Workunits in the results pages, and it made me discover a small bug in Results Status page display. Above top-right corner of the table, the page displays a short list of pages numbers. When I look at first page, this list is: Page: 1 2 3 4 5 6 Last > This let me think I've got only 6 pages But if I click on "Last", I go to page 9 (!) and the list becomes Page: < First 1 ... 4 5 6 7 8 9 Of course, this is not coming from 3 hidden pages suddenly reappearing. Only the list of pages numbers is affected. If I click on number 5, I get Page: < First 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 Last > As you can see, an algorithm has been written to separate the list in 3 parts (Beginning ... End) when the list exceed a certain amount of pages , but it doesn't work in this particular case when I look at page 1. It doesn't act this way on every page 1 of my results When I select another project, which lists 55 pages of workunits, the first page shows this list: Page: 1 2 3 4 5 6 ... 55 Last > Apparently I discovered this bug only because one of my projects have less than 10 pages to display in results page. |

This has been the behavior for as long as I can remember. Call it a bug if you want. If you have more pages than six but less than twelve, you have to give it an extra click to see how many total pages you have.

OK.
Now could you explain to me why it behaves differently when I click on "First" or on "Last", with the same amount of pages (9)? What is the reason for not having 3 dots here: Page: 1 2 3 4 5 6 Last > when it's possible there ? Page: < First 1 ... 4 5 6 7 8 9 I call it a bug because the first case should display something like this Page: 1 2 3 4 5 6 ... Last > Not because I'm too lazy to click on a link to see hidden pages. |

On my RS pages, just as deltavee describes
Page: 1 2 3 4 5 6 ... 22 Last > But if less than 12, there's a creek to traverse. Anyway, standard answer from the higher echelon is 'Thank you for reporting... we've added the problem to our [very long] To Do list' (note the ellipsis :) |

Now could you explain to me why it behaves differently when I click on "First" or on "Last", with the same amount of pages (9)? The reason is that the server is running through different branches of code based on the different variations described above. It may not work the way it should, but it is not going to rise to a high level of priority since nothing is "broke" (irritating - yes). Cheers   |
