Got two. Did a start/stop. Both finished without a problem and appeared to checkpoint normally. Awaiting validation. Got two as well.Cheers One yesterday (well, 8/11) on a Windows 10.64bit host. Finished in about 3h and is already marked valid. The second one is on a Windows XP/32bit host, whic came in earlier today and just started a bit more than an hour ago, and just as previous Betas, it is running fine, including frequent checkpoints as it seems. Just wish that non-Beta WUs would work on 32bit system just as well... Ralf |

Faster running is getting the science sooner done.
BETA-testing is for checking the software and making it better if possible. It's obvious that the new Windows application has made a real performance boost, where the Linux version hasn't. I'll give some HST1 windows HST1-results from the actual software to show that the new BETA is much faster on Windows on the same machine: HST1_ 006789_ 000045_ AC0037_ T325_ F00084_ S00007_ 0-- 35.53 |

That would be my observation too... The T400 of old would do 24 hours plus... These T400 of batch 6404 are going to do about 8 hours, but that is assuming they have the same computation set to get through. (on W10-14901 (RS2 which is truly buggy BTW... stay long pole far away from it as you cant roll back to previous stable... all settings panels crash)

FWIW I have about an even split on Linux machines. About 1/2 less than 3 hours. The other half 9-17 hours. My only windoze host running XP ATM finished 3. 2 in 6 hours and 1 in 17 hours.

@ Crystal Pellet Nice to have your kind of problems... Longer running= getting to the 10 yr. beta badge quicker. ![]() I am happy when the currently still running 32bit WU reaches 18h of runtime, so I get just past Ruby on Beta (by a few minutes), after 6 1/2 years of running WCG projects... This first showed _0 (mine) and _1 going PVer. Now that _2 has reported, _0 and _2 went Valid, _1 went Invalid
. All Result Logs look normal, no restarts in any. Is this a truly faulty _1 result, or a homogeneity problem, or an over-sensitive validator?BETA_ HST1_ 006399_ 000080_ AC0014_ T300_ F00021_ S00007_ 2-- Microsoft Windows 10 Professional x64 Edition, (10.00.10586.00) 725 Valid 13/08/16 10:10:34 13/08/16 20:53:02 3.40 113.4 / 170.1 BETA_ HST1_ 006399_ 000080_ AC0014_ T300_ F00021_ S00007_ 1-- Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Edition, Service Pack 1, (06.01.7601.00) 725 Invalid 12/08/16 17:25:34 13/08/16 10:10:25 4.83 73.2 / 73.2 BETA_ HST1_ 006399_ 000080_ AC0014_ T300_ F00021_ S00007_ 0-- Microsoft Windows 10 Core x64 Edition, (10.00.14393.00) 725 Valid 12/08/16 17:25:26 13/08/16 02:56:32 6.47 226.8 / 170.1 |
