Hi jayrope,
----------------------------------------Mac OS is finally related to the BSD kernel (you are right, it is not Linux but BSD). Yves |

However, the problem seems to be related to the way certain projects produce their WUs, ... like i pointed out just before. I've let support know.

I have one AMD system out 5 that produces errors and invalids only on Vina. It didn't produce errors when running autodock and it doesn't produce errors on other projects both WCG and non-WCG. it's a four-core processor and if I only use 2 of the four cores it seems to help with the errors. It is something unique to that processor and/or motherboard or both. I believe it is something related to heat. If it gets above a certain temperture it starts failing on regular basis. I honestly don't believe it is a workunit problem. If it was, I think you would see more reports of failures.

In my past experiences with any AMD chips that I had I found then to be overvolted at default settings. If you can lower the stock voltage you'll reduce heat and maybe the amount of errors.

Doneske, i have no idea what Vina is, nor autodock, and nanoprobe, a Mac has not an AMD chip - i just want to xcontribute some idle computer power on a mac, which is not overheating and runs WUs of some projects (MGM) much better than others (ZIKA). So what the heck. If every user coming in here is required to turn into a mechanic before being able to provide his or her idle computer time to social or medical causes, than the majority bails out in 1 nanosecond. Phew. You guys must be spending a lot of time with your machines... Anyhow, thanx for the advice.
