Dear all,
I am sorry that I have created new thread. I have downloaded a lot of tasks (more than is my PC capable to crunch to deadline). I don“t want to abort these tasks so I just want to ask you, is it possible to transfer (copy) tasks from one PC to another PC. and if it is possible, how? Thank you so much. Kind regards Mamutak |

Hello~
----------------------------------------I've been able to move completed ones from a PC which suddenly lost internet access to another PC and upload them without issue. If you close the Boinc program, you can move the WUs (on a PC it is Windows\ProgramData\Boinc\projects...) onto a USB and put them on another machine that has Boinc installed but closed. But honestly speaking you really don't have a problem. Computers will sometimes download too much (you can play with your cache settings to a certain degree) and other issues come up on occasion which means computers can't finish the work that was sent them. Whatever you dont' finish will be resent to someone else to complete; aka no loss in research. The servers will work a little bit more as they need to resend the WU, but that's less time and effort than you'd expel by trying to move the files and not mess anything up by mistake. I'd say play with your setting so you hopefully won't get too much work in the future, and whatever WUs your computer isn't able to finish...eh, it's all good. Cheers mate~ ![]() |
