Re: Error - Finish File Present Too Long

I am already running most current version (7.2.24).

I haven't used the WCG version in years. The BOINC people keep fixing bugs. I am now on 7.6.33 on Windows, and 7.6.31 on Linux (from the Ubuntu 16.04 repository), with no problems.

Re: Error - Finish File Present Too Long

Sorry if this is the wrong thread

My Android device had been running quite nicely until Tuesday / Wednesday when it started to give "Too Late, Aborted or Error" messages. Are there changes to OET work packages?

I accept that you may come back with post start-up messages or similar. If so would you kindly tell me how to do this on my mobile?

Re: Error - Finish File Present Too Long

Can't tell much without any Workunit Status from your side. :-)
Visit https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/viewBoincResults.do, click the designated Result Name(s) concerning Too Late/Aborted/Error, then report back (copy/paste). Also click the Too Late/Aborted/Error messages in the column 'Status' to see more detail.

Re: Error - Finish File Present Too Long

Ah, now it's more clear what you mean! Thanks.
In your example of 5 WUs concerning OET1_0003854_x3MX5_rig_29318 there are 3 WUs with Status "Error". If you click on Error there, you will see somewhat more info, like e.g. "process got signal 11" or "SIGSEGV: segmentation violation". In my experience I have seen "Error" happening more than once to OET1-WUs while my device hasn't been erroring out one single time in the past half year, luckily. So as long as it doesn't happen to you...

Re: Error - Finish File Present Too Long

Hi Jim and David,

I upgraded as advised to ver 7.6.22
Got two more "finish file" errors last night so this did not change the behavior.
I do not see an increase in running processes under task manager so they must end even if not detected properly by the client.

Susan

Re: Error - Finish File Present Too Long

Susan,

Sorry to hear that the issue is still occurring. Do you run Open Zika or any other projects on this computer and are they getting any of these errors?

Thanks,
armstrdj

Re: Error - Finish File Present Too Long

Had one "finish file present too long" yesterday. Didn't think it would happen on Linux, but now it did, first one in ages.

Maybe it's got something to do with the transient HTTP errors that I am experiencing since this weekend.
