Nothing is wrong.

Incomplete answer: your computer is considered unreliable when you start, so each work unit (WU) that you get is also sent to another computer. The WU is pending validation (PVal) until the other computer has finished the WU as well. Then the output of the two machines is compared and you find out whether your WU is good or not. So you should find out before the WU's deadline, but if your "wing-man" fails to respond in time another copy might be sent out. Or if the results of the two copies of the WU don't compare, or the other computer gives an error, then yet another copy may be sent out and so it goes on until a limit is reached. It's complicated, and it varies in detail by individual project with WCG.

I repeat. Nothing is wrong. Be patient. Things usually settle down and you'll get used to how many PVals you normally have. Then, after you've processed a few WUs successfully and your computer is considered reliable, you'll probably find the list shrinks, depending on the project(s) you've chosen.
