I have been running WCG for nearly ten years.. About ten days ago, I had my OS upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and my PC is no longer returning any results. I have not knowingly changed anything.
I would welcome advice about what I should do to get back up and running again. Thanks. |

See previous Windows 10 discussion thread... I did not experience this on upgrading my test machine [was on a later BOINC test version may have been the reason]. Others found that Microsoft kindly sabotaged the app [removed I think]. Run the installer again or whilst at it, upgrade to RC1 of 7.6.29 which fixes a pesky download issue:
Windows 64 bit: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/boinc_7.6.29_windows_x86_64.exe Windows 32 bit: http://boinc.berkeley.edu/dl/boinc_7.6.29_windows_intelx86.exe These clients also take Windows 10 compatibility into account, which is not in the official WCG version [IIRC]. |

I would reset the Windows 10 install. Available in the control panel (updates and recovery I think)

I've done what SekeRob suggested, and I now have a small window showing progress on one of the projects which I was previously working on. Does this mean it is now working again/ What about my other projects?

Also, the screensaver is no longer appearing, and I can't find any instructions anywhere about to how to re-instate it. Any advice gratefully received.

Not been in W10 for long, but right clicking on the desktop opens a menu with a personalization option. Somewhere in the control panel is Screen Saver. In the list there would be a BOINC, but only if you originally opted for the screensaver to be added during the [original] BOINC install.
Don't know what you mean with 'small window'. If this is the BOINC simple view, there's a "Tasks" line above the slide, with next to it a drop-down from which you can pick which running task to view the slides for. |

There is no Boinc screensaver in the screensaver personalization option. I did opt for this when I originally installed BOINC but didn't get a request when I updated today. Maybe I need to uninstall and start all over again.

I've now found the Simple View and it is indicating that one of my projects is running. So may be back in business but will have to wait until the next communication before I can find out if any results are being passed on.
