FYI, More work is on the way. We are building a lot more work units that should cover us for the weekend. Thanks, -Uplinger Hope there is more coming. Was full last night. Running out this AM. "Fool me twice, shame on me." Another night of empty queues and wasted time. Suspended WCG on the servers and moved on with other projects. ![]() ![]() |

There is more coming, We launched with 700 batches, which lasted 3 days. When I made my comment, I had built another 700 batches, I was hopeful they would last. I am building another 700 with another 1000 batches downloading right now to be built. The grid is hungrier than I was expecting :)
Thanks, -Uplinger |

Ok, I did a little digging into what happened. Batches 740-900 were loaded into the grid yesterday. Batches that were built above that were not loaded, I believe this is due to the 75,000 work units loaded at one time every 6 hours. I'm going to boost that to 100,000 and I'm running the load work manually right now. We have still 400 batches already built to load. And I've got another 700 being built right now with another 1000 batches downloading. We should have plenty of work, just a question of getting it into the feeder to last the 6 hours between loads.
Thanks, -Uplinger |

Correct that, I just boosted that value to 500,000 for it to attempt to load every 6 hours.

Could you pretty please look at the .png download issue and maybe fast track a 7.2 client with a backport maybe of the 7.6.23 fix that facilitates skipping the slide files that hang up, still, for an unknown quantity of members. The stats indicate it's happening to more than a few. The issue is definitely random... got a 7.6.2 client on W8.1 and that one has no issues, but then I've configged to skip your CDN and pull from source. Can't sit there holding hands when AFB for a month!
Thk you /ot |

I will need to discuss with knreed as he had a script that populated and checked all the CDN locations to make sure the images downloaded properly from there. From his post in the other thread he did just that. I am monitoring the situation and may try using double url's for the downloads of the slideshow images to see if that fixes the problem.
Thanks, -Uplinger |

Correct that, I just boosted that value to 500,000 for it to attempt to load every 6 hours. Well, let's see if that helps. Or if some of the mega-crunchers are still sucking up everything before "normal" guys have a chance to get some.-Uplinger Ralf |

Hi,
Thanks for all the info. on this thread & others. Since life put my crunching on a few year hold, I had no idea about Limited Launches & other issues to consider. There was a delay on my "motley crew" of various Macs & Androids on getting any OpenZika work at first. I thought at first that they had not had it running yet & almost gave up. It is good to know not to bite off more than you can crunch, especially since I want to build a Xeon 18x2 core soon & a i7-5820k is coming any day. The wife acceptance factor is actually the biggest challenge now that we moved to a smallish Condo. She is away for now, so I have "activated" several old Androids & Mac Laptops to crunch away on Zika for now. They are plugged in all over the place for now. The Veteran Crunchers here have an amazing amount of wisdom to share with newcomers like me. It sure helps. Thanks again for all the info. posted on this & other threads. Peace, live long, & prosper. -Paul javascript:smilie(' ')BTW- Sorry if I am off topic. |
