Looks the pendulum is swinging the other way. I have tasks that initially project about 4.5 hours of run time that are now 43% done in 25 minutes on a 2.8 GHz. machine.

Hi:
I am curious about the run times on the WUs on this project. The processor on my laptop is an i7 - 3740QM with 12 MG of ram running Win 7 OS. What kind of kick ass turnaround time would I be able to contribute to this project? Clive |

Clive You should do pretty well with that processor, but realize the units may vary greatly in length, so some may take 15 minutes and other many multiple hours. If you decide to run them on Linux (dual boot maybe ?) they will run about twice as fast as Windows. Cheers

I have completed 14, in about as many hours on an i7-4790 running Ubuntu 16.04. The times are averaging about an hour, with the minimum of 22 minutes and the maximum of 126 minutes thus far. I was holding off running the VINA projects on my Win7 machines, and installed Linux specifically for this type of work. There are some other projects that benefit greatly from Linux (i.e. Universe), while for others there is not much difference. I am not actually a Linux fan, but when you need it, you need it.
