The learning has already progressed... Sure! My 450 ready to start OpenZika's first estimated run time 198:53:12 jumped to 1775 hours. |

Glad to hear that indeed the TTC are retro-adjusted for the RtS.
That could have put your queue into shock mode... EDF would kick in if the buffer is => than 5 days for this science... for a ~16 core or smaller that is >:) |

That could have put your queue into shock mode... No shock and no panic after the extra 17 tasks arrived and kicked the RtS's up. That Linux VM has 14 cores. The RtS-tasks have different estimated run times. 191 tasks have an estimation of 8:01:21 150 tasks 2:18:37 3 tasks 0:46:42 and 122 tasks 0:13:26. |

First I read [the inference], but now you're telling there's no retro-adjusting of TTC. Maybe for the better, to avoid that EDF, I'm in dubio on the matter.

..., but now you're telling there's no retro-adjusting of TTC. Maybe for the better, to avoid that EDF, I'm in dubio on the matter. The TTC was adjusted, but not all or not all to the same TTC. btw: The former mentioned Win VM-tasks heading to 3-4 hours, completed with an average runtime of 3 hours and 59 minutes. |

Maybe WCG uses an on-server factor which is transmitted when new work is sent? With <dont_use_dcf/> most client side runtime learning is out the window.

[ot]Another run time comparison between Windows and Linux for each 8 tasks.
On the same i7 2600 host. Win64 on the host itself and Linux in a VM on that host with execution cap set to 90% to not freeze the host. Windows average run time 3 hours and 11 minutes and Linux 2.5 hours.[/ot] |

Looks like ZIKA has a higher prio in the feeder than UGM. The device on dual project profile is now getting swamped with the this new pestilence... the 2 dozen came with 1:00:18 runtime estimate

since 10pm uh, mountain time,
----------------------------------------showing 6+ hour estimated, they take about 2+ on my machine... I understand them being low and inching up, O, I thought I was running 3 of them, but those were the 1+ hour estimated units. Started a 6+ hour one to see what happens, back in an hour or 2 to edit this post. ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Jack007 at May 19, 2016 12:32:59 PM] |

Hmm, well my old x86 windows XP system is timing out. The first wu aborted with exceeded time limit after 10 hrs 45 minutes. I'm only running 2 of the cores right now and the furthest ahead is close to 8 hours in. These all had estimates of 16 minutes.
----------------------------------------I have a, um, ship-load of other wus waiting to run with a longest estimate of 55 minutes for a different target. Is the max cpu time relative to the wu estimate or is it hardwired by project? If the latter I might as well abort my wus and take that machine off the project. Otherwise I can try to let it learn some more. [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at May 20, 2016 3:12:18 AM] |
