PRIONS - Renegade Proteins (ie. Mad Cow Disease, CJD)

Can the Protein Folding Project results be used to research cures for Prion linked diseases?
Conversely, how do we know the data we're crunching is not being used to help synthesize Prions? confused

I would think that this would be one of the major targets of these projects. I would expect the profile to be similar to the folding@home project. In fact, I would think that the two projects should just be linked up so that we're not doing repetitive work.
