In very short: yes, not only likely but planned, after some childhood diseases have been overcome.
How much? We don't know yet. We need to look at a sensible balance between what is useful to perform vs results analysis, data flow issues and many other things |

Question: Is HSTB going to have their own project web page with info, statuses etc at Nottingham as all the other WCG projects have? (Looked hi and lo but was unsuccessful at Googles). Yes we definitely plan to do this, but haven’t got around finishing it, yet. Other project issues kept us busy. So hopefully, soon Bump: In 6 days it will be 3 months the project has been running... any outlook on a project website, with a "we love this the most", detail description of experiments and batches? (Samples from FAH2 project https://fightaidsathome2.cst.temple.edu/status.html and Zika http://openzika.ufg.br/experiments/ ) thx [Edit 2 times, last edit by SekeRob* at Jun 15, 2016 7:50:42 AM] |

Unfortunately we haven't come around to set up a separate homepage, yet. As you can also see from this late reply, we had to focus on a couple of other things.
Meanwhile, please have a look at which updates we have through the wcg directly (just today) and also via social media. |

I just saw your Facebook repost of the March 2016 article. I may have posted it before on my blog, but I decided to repost it. I included the July 21 update and the background information from the Project Details page.
----------------------------------------I hope that my post encourages people to get involved in this project, WCG, and BOINC. I encourage all of WCG and BONC projects to get their word out into social media as a free way of boosting awareness. Here is a link to my post. https://sciencesprings.wordpress.com/2016/08/...lp-stop-a-leading-killer/ |

I have posted a message in Dutch on the forum of the website of the Dutch Top 40: top40.nl. That's also the name of my team (plug, plug, plug) at WCG.

News: any comments re BOINC processing ???
----------------------------------------Status and plans as of June 2016 Dear Malariacontrol.net contributor, It's been a while since we announced that malariacontrol.net will be back after a short period of maintenance and upgrading, and you are probably wondering why you are still not receiving new workunits. By now, it looks like malariacontrol.net will not be sending out workunits any time soon. The reason for this is that, unlike when we started out more than ten years ago, volunteer computing is currently not the most efficient and cost-effective approach for providing the computing resources necessary for the simulation studies. Developments in high-performance computing and institutional arrangements have made computing infrastructure accessible to the malaria modeling project which was simply not available ten years ago. Also, the staffing profile of the project has changed over time, and maintenance and further development of the volunteer computing platform are more challenging these days than before. Therefore, at the moment we cannot justify the significant investment required to upgrade the malariacontrol.net-specific components of the BOINC server for the next phase of the project. This is a good moment to look back on more than 10 years of running malariacontol.net, and the achievements you contributed to. We believe that the project has substantially improved knowledge of malaria and malaria control. The scientific articles which are listed on the BOINC wiki give an overview of the achievements. In addition, some of the simulation experiments we ran on malariacontrol.net have formed the basis of technical reports and software tools which helped inform important policy decisions. We will keep the malariacontrol.net server running for now. It may be that sometime in the future, we will have applications that will make this again the best way for running simulations, so please keep your BOINC client connected to malariacontrol.net. Thank you very much for your generous support over the last 10 years! On behalf of the malaria modeling team, Nicolas -- 21 Jun 2016 14:34:35 UTC · Comment ![]() crunching, crunching, crunching. Hope that this is the correct forum, as you can see from the messages below, the last part of a running HSTB work unit cannot upload.

@domonijo, those aren't HSTB, they're beta test units for CEP2. See the beta test forums. Other beta testers are experiencing the same problem.

Thank you Tony, had not checked that but the weird thing is that CEP2 is not on my checked in my projects. Would possibly explain why for a period of time why my MB & CPU peaked at 123 degrees C.
----------------------------------------Ha, just seen that I had checked for new projects, this now unchecked. ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Oct 9, 2016 12:39:42 PM] |
