Number of results shrinking fast

The total number of results from the 15th to the 20th have decreased by 544,000. Mapping cancer markers is down by 186,000 and Outsmart ebola together is down by 320,000. Why does wcg want new members when the present members are not being kept busy?

Re: Number of results shrinking fast

OET:

The runtime per day is fairly normal in the past few days.

02/20/2016 41:120:15:38:40 64,067,945 286,761
02/19/2016 43:244:14:35:50 68,157,874 338,541
02/18/2016 44:107:05:01:13 74,600,402 301,623
02/17/2016 42:138:08:19:00 70,102,537 306,854

If you compare that to when you saw those 600,000+ days:

02/16/2016 37:002:05:32:18 52,402,043 391,444
02/15/2016 36:047:19:00:21 42,277,731 607,664
02/14/2016 35:263:12:18:23 40,592,987 609,879
02/13/2016 39:109:19:42:39 47,318,122 635,288

you will see that the number of years per day actually increased. The runtime of the WU has increased thus the number of results has decreased.

Same with MCM. Years per day is stable except for the weekend effect.

Present members are being kept busy.

Re: Number of results shrinking fast

Measuring total member contribution by result counts is nonsense since we know the runtimes per task have high variability [with exception of maybe UGM and FAHB who fairly stable), so rightly as Falconet notes, the reference is runtime years. This linked chart https://bit.ly/WCGLOBAL basically spells it out for the past 12 months, with full WCG history bottom.

it's a continuation problem of WCG, that it doesn't keep their new members!

example:
- I've allocated about 15 members from the time we had invitations & getting new badges -> all but 1 friend of mine dropped out!
cool

so, it's a problem of WCG (not me), to keep members crunching & donating...I just simply stopped caring for clearly is "not my job"!
wink

Re: Number of results shrinking fast

KLiK,

Read my post and SekeRob*'s as well.
What RickTheBrick showed does not mean nor even suggest that it is caused by losing members.
It has all to do with Work Units runtime variations.

Re: Number of results shrinking fast

No yes/no/don't understand/disagree response from RTB, but by his logic he must be over the moon with all these members rushing back in the last week to do all that many more results. 8.7 million for Sunday-Saturday, 300K up from the week before.

Enjoy your Sundays [I just revisited Thin Lizzy's most famed hit on YouTube for the right mood ;o]

Hehe, when I saw the number of results returned yesterday from OET, I remembered this thread and thought about posting something along those lines :D
