WCG detach itself and project backoff
Recently I have issue with my laptop monitor screen that went blank (I still doesn't know what the issue) but sometimes after I restart my laptop, WCG Boinc Manager cames up (it rarely do) and there is no project attached. it happened twice now. the thing is after I added WCG, i can't download any job because of "project backoff" for hours. i went to check my old job result on WCG and it mentioned 'Detach'.

May I know what is the issue and does anyone else face the same problem?

Is the client attached to any Account Manager such as BAM or Grid Republic?

Post the content of the stdoutdae.txt file. That will tell us lots of why/when.

Not what I asked for, but suggest to now remove WCG inside the BOINC Manager, exit BOINC, making sure the boinc.exe program is no longer loaded. Then in file explorer navigate to the ..\boinc\projects\ folder and delete www.worldcommunitygrid.org folder [and anything resembling the WCG name, the nstart BOINC again and add WCG back.

sorry i didn't notice your first post as i post the error from error menu.

here is the strange thing, there is no world community grid folder in the /boinc/project/
only placeholder.txt.

maybe that what lead to this error:

State file error: project http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ not found for task

as i read the error log file, I notice much more error from yesteryear which i didn't notice (and the boinc apparently didn't inform me much. i basically left BOINC on its own.

I think as of now I want to try uninstall and reinstall, and re-add WCG project.

Maybe there's another BOINC install and the program is confused. Scan your disk(s).

BTW, best do this as admin, as else BOINC ProgramData and subfolders can be hidden, particular if BOINC is installed as service [which is why we (I) want to see the whole message log, to be able to provide the most accurate feedback.

I used the installer to fix the installation. It seems it redownload the science application again. currently only one job running (it managed to download one Ebola job). Although it seems the job is working funny....

Let us know how the 'funny job' ends. Seems you have a clean log now. Won't know until you restart the system if things are stable. Scan you security software logs too, and ideally, set an exception to *not* scan the C:\ProgramData\BOINC folder PLUS subs. BOINC keeps an integrity index itself plus whole of BOINC is now moving towards HTTPS [saw the code check-ins last week], which WCG has done since long. All apps and result files are scanned by the projects as well... exception is particularly helpful to speed up CEP2 [6700 files per task slot].
