From a Research share (24%) and total per day point of view (115 years), there's nothing indicating a shortage, but that is hindcast as time between sending tasks and receiving results is surely avaraging at greater than 24 hours.
----------------------------------------Systemically, I think something is wonky with the whole system, plus demand has sprung considerably since fixing the image download issue [a 6 month long problem culminating in the big site out of April 7]. Yesterday WCG did 481 years, highest since May 9, 2015. [Edit 2 times, last edit by SekeRob* at Apr 13, 2016 9:28:38 AM] |

From a Research share (24%) and total per day point of view (115 years), there's nothing indicating a shortage, but that is hindcast as time between sending tasks and receiving results is surely avaraging at greater than 24 hours. For the last 2-3 days, none of my +30 active hosts has gotten any new FAH2 WU and all of them are set to receive only FAH2 and HST (which are rare sightings anyway). All new WUs I got send are OET, MCM and even UGM, the later the first ones in months...Systemically, I think something is wonky with the whole system, plus demand has sprung considerably since fixing the image download issue [a 6 month long problem culminating in the big site out of April 7]. Yesterday WCG did 481 years, highest since May 9, 2015. I doubt this is an issue of supply and demand. It would more likely in a case like mine, with many hosts all over the place, result maybe in a drop in the numbers of FAH2 WUs and some uptick in the the numbers of other WUs (got occasionally a handful of OET WUs when there was a supply&demand issue in the past), but not a complete drop-out of FAH2 and instead receiving other "opt-in" WUs only as it is showing up right now... Haven't you figured it out yet?... the "If there is no work for..." has been recoded to work as 'If this option is ticked, first send work of the projects that are *not* in short supply"

Hindcast shows a drop in validations from the 12th to the 13th of 22K results.
Of course we need to be conscious that as the generations are getting into the 30th resp. 40th, and all 106 +batches (000-105) having entered the pipe, each completion of the last reduces the number of tasks in circulation... only a completed result up to #29 and #39 is the base of generation a new one until the sequence is finished. 22000 dropping out in a day, where 200,000 generations was the max indicated by uplinger, is a lot though. Anyway, the Status page indicates 000-105 was as of the 12th at 75% complete with nearly 12 million results returned [don't know how much lapse there is between the WCG project total results returned with what scientists indicate as completed %]. |

BTW, runtime per result shot up from 13 to nearly 15 hours in the previous day: https://bit.ly/WCGFAHB

Morning stats head for 36K validation today, which is half of what it was 2 days ago. Maybe we are nearing completion of many sequences... active WU population thinning. The crunchers can see this in the last part of the task/result name
7.14 fahb FAH2_000061_avx17285_000007_0012_015_1 01d,09:56:35 (01d,09:31:54) 1/17/2016 9:44:40 AM 1/17/2016 9:46:30 AM If with ls in the name, the top number is 040, without ls the top task is 030 (assuming the first is 001 in the sequence). And average runtime dropped back to near 13 hours. |
