Hi All,
I have a bunch of computers that I used to crunch on. The are my comps but I have to use a portable version of BOINC as I dont have admin rights. Long story, basically, I have them at work and they MUST have a specific installation of Windows and I dont have admin rights on them. I have been getting SSL connection errors on all of the comps now. Even resetting the projects have not solved the problem. I was able to install the newest version of BOINC on my laptop at work and it works flawlessly. Is there something that changed with the new version of BOINC? Are old versions no longer able to connect to WCG servers for some reason? Any help you can provide would be awesome. I really want to crunch the new FAAH phase II!!!! |

Hello,
This past July, we updated our SSL certificates. This caused certain older versions of BOINC or World Community Grid software to not be compatible with the new certificates. Members who were/are using these older versions of the software will need to upgrade to the current version we are supporting. Thank you for your support, ErikaT |

That's a bummer, it looks like I'm SOL then on this unless there is a way to change the SSL certificates in the old version of BOINC. Is there a way?

There were several threads in the BOINC Agent Support forum during July 2015 discussing this problem. I am afraid it is a lot of reading!
