Hey guys! Still trying to clear up things I am going through. My computers are often turning themselves off either after power outages or with my Mac ( as it must have some function that cuts off my projects after a couple days) still have not had a chance to figure out the Mac issue and do have battery back up and surge protectors on others. I have a question as have never done but how do I calculate my financial donation for tax purposes. I have seen info in forum on this before but I could not find correct way to pull up in searching the forum. Please help. Thanks and will increase my numbers soon as also have a big cruncher who's MB died but have not had chance to repair. I did a quick search and found https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/...ead,38073_offset,0#493071 which describes what WCG may do with regards to donating for electricity usage. |

There is a free program from the MAC app store called"caffeine." Get it and install it. Then click the coffee cup icon in the menu bar. If the cup is full it is working. Cheers

Thanks. Now how about AudioWizard? Well, from what I can figure out googling it, it appears that there was a third party app out there that converted audio CDs to the WMA format and the WIN 10 install deletes that app so it sounds like MS made it part of WIN 10. |

Hello All, I have started looking for new cell phones and I have decided against the Apple based on our needs (the Apple 6's are too big and have way too much function). I have been looking at Motorola, ASUS (ZenFone), and others. Any recommendations? Dave, if you're looking for a pretty basic cell phone, go check what Wal-Mart has. The whole cell phone/service market is changing big time so the last thing you want to do is get stuck in any kind of contract. Even Verizon is dropping that. You'll probably pay more for the cell phone since the service provider won't be subsidizing it thru a 2 year contract now. I've also seen word of offers that include free phone upgrades once a year from some places. I prefer to avoid Wal-Mart normally but it seems they have some decent offers for no-contract fairly basic service and phones. |

That was someone's suggestion. There is no tax write off for WCG crunching. WCG is not a IRS recognized charity. |

I have a nephew's wedding to go to up in Virgina next month. I'll be gone the 9th thru the 11th and will need someone to grab the team data those three days. Let me know if you want to volunteer.

Can someone describe what's involved to get BOINC running on a Linux box (Ubuntu I think). I'm used to the Windows side. I assume you have a GUI interface on Linux as well so managing it via BOINCManager will be the same. That being the case, I presume it's just a matter of downloading the Linux version of BOINC and installing it (via a command or does the exe self-install there too?).
