Why does selected available projects on My Projects take priority over selected profile options?
----------------------------------------most of my profiles are set for MCM only, but have selected OET and MCM in available projects as my Android phone requires OET. as a result, my PCs now get OET and MCM WUs even though the profiles are set for MCM only. TIA Patrick ![]() |

Anytime you change My Projects, the selection is copied to all profiles, just as it says on tin, right at where the lid is:
"Please check the boxes below to select the projects that will receive your spare processing power. This will set the preference for all of the devices that you currently have registered on World Community Grid. You may change the settings on a device by device basis by going to the Device Manager and customizing your device profiles. |

I did. I re-saved the profiles for MCM only. But still get OET WUs on devices that are selected for MCM only.

Verify that the devices you wish to only receive MCM on are associated with the correct profile. The My Projects does not have any priority, it does a one time write to all profiles at your instruction. Re-saving the individual profiles with a different selection is supposed to kick in immediately, bar the messenger is stuck in traffic... it seems in need to tell the feeder unit there's a new selection for device x/y/z.
You can also invert by using MP to tell all profiles to only do MCM. If you then go to the profiles that also need to distribute OET, at opening it will say MCM only. If it does not, then there's a bug. |

Patrick, double check the box for "If there is no work available for the project(s) I have selected above, please send me work from another project." in your device profiles. I believe you want that unchecked. You just say that you get both and not just MCM only. If that box is checked, if your request for work hits the server when it just happens to not have any MCM in the "pool", you'll get OET (and possibly UGM and CEP). I think what you get of the four will depend on what happens to be available at the moment of your request, the project priorities and probably another thing or two. A copy of messages in the event log for a request for work showing what you get could help. Look for something about no work being available for MCM.
