Boinc 6.10.58 on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit works fine here.

Is there any way to run client on old linux (CentOS 5, etc.)?
'compatible' builds 6.12.22 is now can't work with the server...

6.12.22:

When I tired running BOINC under CentOS many years ago, it wasn't worth the hassle. I don't know if someone has now complied a CentOS BOINC package or not, but way back when you had to build your own and with 32-bit libraries. I ran into library issues as the library I had was not was BOINC wanted.

If you want Linux and don't care which distribution, then there is hope:

Running ClearOS here which is based on Redhat's Enterprise OS Version 6.x (rhel6) just as CentOS 6 is. Current version 6.6 - installed the following:-
boinc-client-.2.33-3.git1994cc8.el6.x86_64
and WCG runs no problem with the new certs... I also ran boinc and WCG with version 5.x using .sh (shell install) before upgrading...
boinc-client-7.2.33-3.git1994cc8.el6.i686 is available for for those on 32-bit rhel6/CentOS6/ClearOS6 and I guess Scientific Linux 6

Only needed to compile on an old Fedora 17 install to comply with new certs

System info at http://danda.poweredbyclear.com/

Hi lanbrown and TonyEllis,

Thank you for your reply.

I need to use Cent 5.x for this machine for a while...
So, I'll install new client after I update OS of this machine in the future.

Many thanks.
