For this huge vulnerability dubbed Certifi-Gate, an app was developed that with approval of Google was added to the play-store: Here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.checkpoint.capsulescanner

Installed it, Ran it, Was found not vulnerable, Uninstalled it.

Re: Security advisories thread: Those that may interest you.

Whilst Windows 10 had most Critical and Urgent patches, right in it's first weeks, webbrowsers are another achilles, Firefox no exception. Just out with version 40 which includes a Stagefright patch: http://www.eweek.com/enterprise-apps/firefox-...-one-for-stagefright.html

Google just pushed a patch to my Android tablet, though it had tested as not vulnerable. Check your System Tray, expect a full screen announcement it's there.

Re: Security advisories thread: Those that may interest you.

Yay I am not vulnerable to certify-gate.

As for stagefright, Vodafone Message+ (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vodafone.messaging) already has the auto retrive option deselected so all good there too.
There is also this detector for stagefright by ESET: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eset.stagefrightdetector

Just saw this :

Half a billion users are at risk from a public zero day remote code execution exploit affecting all versions of the popular WinRAR compression software.
