survey is to switch users from FA@h project, to a new one... Maybe there is something lost in translation... a survey is not for notifying people about a change. A notification, email, or note maybe the correct way to refer to the mechanism to let people/crunchers know that FAAH has finished and that there are other projects to pick from. I would agree with this tactic although I'm don't know how effective it would be: there is a possibility that many of the intended recipients wouldn't understand the notification or would just erase it without reading it. Like stated before, nothing lost with trying. CJSL Crunching like there's no tomorrow... |

Every time a project ends, some with "thin nerves" come up with ideas that we would run out of science! For me, that is LoL! :D
----------------------------------------Why? MCM has a end about October/November 2015 - will be finished by Christmas time. OET will be finished withing a half a year also...so beginning of 2016... UGM will finish within 18months @ best...so no sooner than 2017... CPE2 - don't know about this one...haven't been keeping it up lately... In other words...u have a lot of job to do, crunch! we'll probably have one more project by the end of the y...so don't worry! ;) |

I think the problem lies in the communication between us and WCG.
----------------------------------------We see no new projects on the horizon and WCG remains rather silent about the future, or in preparation for new projects. There are enough projects for Boinc, but rather less for the WCG STANDARDS (non-commercial, everyone has access to the results) are suitable. CPE2 - don't know about this one...haven't been keeping it up lately... CEP2 is open ended at this point. My guess is that it will last as long as the folks in the Guzman group wish it to last and for which they have obtained funding. Cheers

We see no new projects on the horizon and WCG remains rather silent about the future, or in preparation for new projects. This is standard operating procedure for the WCG. We will learn of a new project when the Beta starts. |

@ deltavee
----------------------------------------I know it as well as experienced users as you know but do not appear to all users. And the result is uncertainty or fear that soon there are no work units and WCG will be paused. You see the discussion here to new projects for WCG. Hello everyone,
Sorry, if this is a little bit of topic, maybe, but I did not have the time to read the thread: If WCG should really run out of projects: Why not contact an organization like the World Health Organization? They know everything about diseases. To me personally, to would be good if WCG could do anything about SARS https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Severe_acute_respiratory_syndrome https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXPaee0uEQM All the best MS |

CPE2 - don't know about this one...haven't been keeping it up lately... What you overlook is that MCM currently has 70% of the current daily work. Since all other projects are either limited (CEP) or low priority (UGM/OET), the total performance of WCG is going to fall off the cliff. We will go from 392 years per day to 122. Sure OET has several months, at 17% load. At 51% load it has 2 months. UGM has 22 months left at 8% load. At 40% load it has under 5 months In other words...u have a lot of job to do, crunch! we'll probably have one more project by the end of the y...so don't worry! ;) You have not one whit of information to suggest a new project is under development for imminent release. |
