What about projects like Fight Malaria @ Home (www.fight-malaria.org) or Docking @ home (project of a university)? You are already running with Boinc and I think that it would be suitable candidates for WCG. we had this project: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/research/gfam/overview.do but u can suggest those UNI to send a proposal here: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/research/viewSubmitAProposal.do |

Docking@home is over.
----------------------------------------The malaria project is more than just malaria now, it is available here http://findah.ucd.ie and known as FightNeglectedDiseases@home. If they want WCG support, then they should submit a proposal. AMD Ryzen 5 1600AF 6C/12T 3.2 GHz - 85W AMD Ryzen 5 2500U 4C/8T 2.0 GHz - 28W AMD Ryzen 7 7730U 8C/16T 3.0 GHz |

Sorry guys ,
----------------------------------------i have the two projects from a list Boinc and thought it is currently. @ Falconet: The project would also good. The only question is whether and how WCG could participate (if it would be feasible) AMD 3900X - 21 Threads @ 4,00 GHz - 24/7 Samsung Xcover4 - 4 Threads @ 1.43 Ghz - 24/7 [Edit 2 times, last edit by Still Alive at Jul 5, 2015 9:12:03 PM] |

No harm in trying, and if its possible they could submit a proposal. |

I would take a survey. One thing important to me is Epilepsy but I see no distributed computing projects for it. I'm not a scientist or a researcher so I can't submit an official application to WCG, but it is one thing I would love to see getting researched.

You need a target area and define it and crystallize it, so you can make a 3D model of this, before you can let mass distributed computing loose on a disease... a string of genes, something. If there are researchers out there that have this, contact them and explain what WCG can do to find compounds that fit [in simulation]. The proposal forms to complete are ready to be fetched from the website.

Before we issue a survey, I think we should call a meeting.

Hello everyone,
I would like to point out that a survey can have a risk: The risk that people vote in favour of a project on a certain disease, and afterwords WCG will not be able to find scientists having a project for this very disease. The result might be frustration of particpiants of the survey. Just my opinion. All the best MS |

Unless WCG has changed the why it works, a survey would be useless. WCG doesn't (I repeat, "does not" ) define what it wants works on. Scientists and researchers from investigation centers and universities around the world come to WCG with proposed projects for WCG to work on. Now, I imagine that WCG investigates and votes on the received proposals and decides if it proper for WCG to work on it or not. But in a nutshell, WCG doesn't get it pick what projects to work: the projects come to WCG, not the other way around.

The result might be frustration of particpiants of the survey. Just my opinion. All the best MS survey is to switch users from FA@h project, to a new one...this gigantic step has been closed now! So we need people on other areas...& inform them about other projects... not asking them about new science on WCG, which MIGHT NOT happen! ;) |
