... The FAAH project will continue. We are now in the process of transitioning a significant part of the computational effort to analyzing the mountains of results that have been generated from the generosity and interest of the FAAH community. Virtual screening of new and promising AIDS/HIV targets will also continue, but we, with the participation of Prof. Ron Levy at Temple University, will also be using the computational power of FAAH to examine the existing results to determine the most likely candidates for further experimental evaluation. This is a critical step in the drug development pipeline, since buying or synthesizing "false positive" compounds can be expensive in both time and money. The BEDAM computational procedure developed in the Levy Laboratory applies higher-level (and more computationally intensive) physics-based computations to the FAAH results to evaluate and remove such false positives. In addition, we are developing new data mining procedures that will look at all of the results from FAAH virutal screens to construct new filters that will also increase our rate of true positives before we send our candidates to our collaborators for synthesis and testing. A more detailed description of these efforts will be posted soon in our next progress report. ... Art Olson Does anyone know when the next progress report might be released? |

There will be someone(s) in the know, but it's not the volunteer members ;>)

Fyi - We'll be releasing these in a few hours. Seippel Sorry everyone - I made a mistake when building these work units that I didn't notice until they were getting indexed into BOINC. I'm in the process of fixing the problem, but it will unfortunately require the batches to be rebuilt. I apologize for the inconvenience this causes - I know you guys were looking forward to these going out. If I can get enough built by tomorrow, we may still be able to release them at slowed rate in another 24 hours. Seippel |

10^-5 of 250 years is one day. I can finish this project myself by tomorrow. :) I think that's what's bothering people...the end of projects isn't a dramatic champagne-popping bang. It's more of a Fssssssss...ssss...ss.....s.ss...s....... sound. We should make it more exciting I think. Can we get a counter of how many WUs are "on the table" ? :) We all like watching numbers go up or down...that 99.99& is stressful. I totally agree too. It would be nice to see the real numbers of WUs and not just the percentage [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at Jul 23, 2015 10:34:39 PM] |

This "percentage complete" approach assumes, incorrectly, that the project is ending. As I read Dr. Olson's post (in relevant part, as quoted above), the FA@H project continues until HIV / AIDS is eradicated.

Papa3, that was a quote-response to a post made 3 weeks ago... much water has passed since under the bridge.

FYI - We've verified the last problem is fixed and new batches should be released in a few hours. The feeder priority will be set lower than previously for FAHV so users are less likely to get them if they have a mix of projects selected.
