@ Paul
----------------------------------------Gotcha. Will do a search. Trying to use USB3.0 flash drives to compensate for the HDD by making them non-removable and sharing a small and fast swap/page file, to take a bit of the load off the HDD, but no luck just yet. Have a problem with the VL800 usb3 card always dropping the drives after rebooting. Updating the firmware on the card is proving to be such a pain. Have to install W7 32bit (no Via 64bit firmware flashing drivers) on a flash drive and update the card on that OS before it'll work on the W8 OS!:-(. Sigh. I digress. It appears that our crunching machines will have to be rebooted in order to accept new work units. Closing down the client isn't good enough. Thought I had to do a reinstall of Boinc at one point @_@, but a reboot will set things straight. ![]() "Sadly this project is turning into nonscience......" Haven't we heard this before ;P
One device is set 3 in profile with a cache depth of 0.6 days [14 hours], app_config allows 1 to run at a time. Now the last 3 ran 11 hours, 3.5 hours and 11 hours for a total of 25.5 hours, serially, so you'd think time enough to back fill, but all I'm getting is MCM or UGM. Same for the other device set to have 2, 0.6 days buffer. The last 2 ran 11 resp. 12.5 hours, again time enough to report and ask for new, but only OET and UGM is coming. (read of a solar family car build by TU Eindhoven [Stella Lux ] that is energy positive, even in dark weather, meaning it's battery is constantly topped up. They're going to race is again in Australia for 3000 clicks as they do every other year, and win). Picture getting in your car and having a driving range of 1000km without ever having to visit a charging station. Try that in a fossil fuel car :D. A novelty might be, getting home, plug it into the house electric system and run your crunchers on it too, or feed back into the grid. ![]() |

What I was saying is "whazzup, or is the project with this news redundant?".
Oh BTW, passed an E-bike last Friday, it had a solar panel on the back baggage carrier. According the guy, enough charge to get him home again in the afternoon. 15cm wide / 35cm long. |

Of course, hit post and 5 minutes later the backfilling starts on one device [after increasing cache settings], the other still more MCM... Gent's I like to have 2 cores running 24/7 on this project, not when your feeder feels like it.

As the devices are running zero redundant, no wingman waiting, upped profiles to 5 and 4 In Progress. It's better WCG waits on me than me waiting on WCG ... I want one of those energy positive family cars, soon, sooner, soonest... and 49,88 days computing short of completing 4 years runtime on CEP2
