... I understood it as the project had enough data to start analysis and new units will not be created This is where it helps to understand the original speaker. Dr. Santiago is a scientist, not WCG staff. While the two do talk extensively, they speak about units in a different manner. No new work units means there won't be any new experiments for a while. That is no further work being submitted to WCG. There is already a whole lot of work that has been submitted or already created and not yet submitted. Once submitted, it takes time to be distributed, then returned, etc. When the WCG staff starts saying there will be no new work in X weeks, that's when you need to worry. Sounds like that's over a year away. Ah now I understand. Apologize for the inaccurate post on my part then. Next time I will know the difference :) Thanks for your explanation KWSN-A Shrubbery! ![]() |

Fired into Linux to do FAHV exclusively in turbo mode, but half of the work is still of faah. Now having some 954307 which is within the 4th of 8 batch groups for exp.172, then it is basta, that is if all experiments are now listed through current on the status page?

By my estimates, within the next 24 hours (probably closer to 18 hours) we will have sent out the last of the new work for Autodock version of FightAIDS@Home. There will still be work available for the VINA version of the application.
Thanks, -Uplinger |

yup, thanks for the fine tuning info
---------------------------------------- ... I got both my machines crunching FAAH to help get the last of the autodock WUs out the door (yeah, sure, like that is actually going to make a difference , but what the heck, it's fun !!!) CJSL Crunching like there's no tomorrow... |

On my Linux VM (26 cores atm) I got during last hour still more faah's than Vina's - 171 <-> 49. Edit: Just after been so fussy, I only get Vina's. It helped ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Crystal Pellet at Feb 6, 2015 5:52:44 PM] |

It seems that I got my last autodock WUs at 12:36 PM EST. My next FAAH WU was vina at 5:09 PM EST and all (12) have been vina from there on.

Thanks for the update, I did notice we went dry on new work for autodock. As always when an application runs out of work, there is usually about 2 weeks of resends to be sent out.
Thanks, -Uplinger |

@Uplinger: Please consider upping the limit for max no of tasks outstanding per core, currently set at 25. I think that limit was set at a time when the length of FAHV WUs was very unpredictable, the average length was longer, and occasionally this was causing WUs to miss their return deadline.
Now there will be no more for a while of the faah WUs to pad out the cache length, and FAHV WUs are much shorter and much better-behaved, so the limit makes a joke of the work cache setting in our BOINC clients. At the start of yesterday's outage, my machines were maxed out on WUs per core but some machines started running out of work after only about 14 hours. |
