Shortly after the launch of this prject uplinger WCG tech posted:
----------------------------------------Please note, this project is going to be running slower than our normal applications. So there will be periods during the day that no work can be downloaded for the application. and then on Dec 8: once we get checkpointing mid job working, then we will speed it up. Since when there has been a deafening silence from WCG techs |

There are around 20,000 tasks daily for this project. There is work but isn't enough for everyone yet.

Feel free to explore the other 4 projects that plenty of work available. Also feel free to give WCG the one-digit salute and go elsewhere to crunch projects that are actually doing something. Ebola here is not a project. It is a fund-raising effort. https://www.crowdrise.com/CUREEBOLA |

Also feel free to give WCG the one-digit salute That's just plain rudego elsewhere to crunch projects that are actually doing something That's a strange recommendation from somebody who has been crunching here at WCG since the beginning which is over 10 years ago.Ebola here is not a project. It is a fund-raising effort. Uh... this really caught my attention. So I went back to the your link (which I had already read before) and re-read it to see if I missed something. hhhm..... it read the same the second time. So please enlighten me how come the WCG is only a fund raising effort and we are all wasting our time crunching OET WUs. CJSL Crunching for a better world... |

I think it is typically difficult to "walk a mile in someone's shoes" when you don't know them and can't see or hear from them. We know very little of what is happening in the background at the Project and haven't heard much either. But, I see no reason or indication to believe that Dr. Erica Saphire and her team are doing anything than "above board" work with WCG.
Their website (if you click the "show more" in that text box) states that they need donations for good reasons. One of which is that they need to still hire someone that has the skills to analyze the large volume of data they will be getting. I'm more than willing to give them time, understand that this is a partnership effort that isn't perfect, and see what develops. Crunching is "wierd science"...you never know what will come of it and "hope" drives you most of the time (along with badges). |

We have seen this before on start up projects. May take some time to get rolling but will be worth waiting for. This is one nasty bug that needs attention quickly before it spreads out of control. Be patient, especially you badge hunters and old timers.
