From one Yorkshireman to another, I'm so sorry to hear your news although I'm glad that you're having a chance to ensure that 'all is in order' and that you can ensure that, whatever time you have left, is put to good use. Unfortunately, many, don't get that opportunity - the inevitable strikes suddenly and without warning, and so don't get a chance to say and do those important little things in life. You, on the other hand, do - and I'm sure you'll make use of the time to the upmost.

What is certain, is that your time here in and around this community, certainly has been beneficial - not only the 6,000+ posts, but the 67+ years worth of crunching (both counts, I'm hoping will keep increasing for as long as possible - as that's a positive indication that you're still around).

So, I wish you and your family strength in these testing times.

Morphine is great! I take a fair amount everyday to help ease my pain.
I also had an operation on each lung and lost around 30% of each so at some point I will require oxygen at home. My life span has been shortened by 10 years or so and I have a shorter time left on this earth than most my age, but I intend to enjoy what time I have left with my 2 year old son and the wife.

Hold your head high and crunch on.
