Hello Evodude,
As I explained elsewhere (doesn't it get ridiculous we can't mention the names of other places) You are confusing websites and/or policies. Mention any names you like, as long as they are not obscene. This situation has highlighted the fact that WCG should address the problem of inactive Team Captains. The current situation could result in teams being forced to run with departed/deceased Captains who are very unlikely to return and resign the post. Could WCG please consider this position and put forward a workable solution. The WCG is watching. noncommittally, mycrofth |

My sincere apologies for ''tarring the WGC forum with the same brush' as grid.org forum.
You are of course correct mycrofth! WGC has never prevented anyone from discussing other DC projects within its forum. I hope you will understand that I was jumping between different forums, sometimes copying and pasting, and creating cross links to ensure a full coverage for this subject. I hope this post will restore my standing with our staff/members here. |

uh-oh I thought retsof was the captain.... my vote goes for retrsof. unfortunatly, we had the same problem about the team captain over at grid.org. they were never able to make any changes there...I hope it can be done here ?

uh-oh I thought retsof was the captain I'm just posting for the team, but not the captain.I have a strict DL limit due to my geographical location, and have had to stop my participation in Vulture Central IV so it would be contradictory to our aims here for me to expect to carry on as team captain! I had to find another ISP with more generous traffic limits....for a cheaper price. Look around, unless you live in Hadrian's Wall barracks#4.

AOL are currently offering a limit free account and I am hoping it will still be offered at end of my current contract. Wanadoo already know I intend to go at end of contract as I have various issues with their service - especially Tech Support staff who know almost nothing about PC's other than how to read off a list on a monitor. Sorry if this sounds like advertising - it's not meant to be. |

I've done a bit of research for the Team Manager 'elective post' we are being encouraged to create. In order to elect a Manager we need to look at the numbers involved and what constitutes a majority vote. Members input to this forum/team is as follows:- retsof - active member - daily results fingerle - active member - daily results EvoDude - active member - daily results HogeyMuir - active member - daily results trevorcolby00 - last posting 19th Aug 2005 - occasional results harrid3 - last posting 13th Jan 2005 - daily results dalecook - No posts found - inactive andybarker - No posts found - daily results pistaccio - No posts found - daily results Harry - No posts found - daily results benjconrad - Name not found - daily results mfreeth - Name not found - inactive Nick Harlow - Name not found - inactive singlers - Name not found - occasional results pricey83 - Name not found - inactive ghunt - Name not found - inactive mel493 - Name not found - occasional results Chris_mullard - Name not found - never My proposal is as follows:- All active members have expressed their wish to have retsof appointed Team Manager. As we have no way to communicate, other than in the two active forums, this post should be the Notice of Election. If after 7 days, no other member has posted his intention to stand for the position, we should consider retsof to be elected. It is my intention to place a copy of this post in DCZone's Team Vulture III thread. This situation has highlighted the fact that WCG should address the problem of inactive Team Captains. The current situation could result in teams being forced to run with departed/deceased Captains who are very unlikely to return and resign the post. Could WCG please consider this position and put forward a workable solution. Seven days have now passed without any other candidate making themselves known and no dissenting voices in this thread. As the author I will now contact retsof, in the team thread, and let him know he has officially been elected Team Manager. I am sure all will wish to join me in congratulating him on this and we can look forward to having an excellent WCG member at the helm of our team. |

It would be much better to have more involved people rather than just one or a few. Part of the matter is that things were so silent and nobody really knew what the old vultures were doing. I'm just trying to keep postings high in the queue so we can attract some new members. If many were off for the summer, let's get 'em back in here and do some crunching. HEY. I had two HOURS off a couple of weeks ago. That's an AMERICAN vacation, you know.I started a Vulture Central III team thread, and Graham made us some graphics. (in the first message) Have at 'em.
