Re: Welcome to the Uncovering Genome Mysteries project

From a 'production only' cruncher, thanks to the project team, and all the beta testers! I was watching the thread, and appreciate the amount of work you all do to get a new project live - I'm just sorry I don't have enough time to help out with that work.

However, now it's in production, I'm in :-)

Re: Welcome to the Uncovering Genome Mysteries project

Nice to hear from a new project at WCG biggrin

Have you considered publicizing it outside WCG? For example, in BOINCstats news: http://boincstats.com/en/page/projectNews

Will the database be freely available? For how long will it be maintained?

After completion, will you extend the project to non-coding sequences?

I will download some WUs biggrin

Re: Welcome to the Uncovering Genome Mysteries project

10 MB of download plus 5 MB of upload for a 3 hour run time.

40 MB to fill a quad processor and maybe 200 MB for a day's work.

Ouch! Unfortunately that leaves me out.

Re: Welcome to the Uncovering Genome Mysteries project

Welcome Torsten and Wim, I'm sure that you'll enjoy the results we produce - and we'll also enjoy having you and your project run on WCG (especially if you keep the communication flowing with us all (hint, hint)).

Re: Welcome to the Uncovering Genome Mysteries project

Hello Torsten and Wim. I would like to know what we are looking at under project graphics. It appears the graphics shows a sampling of the genetic sequences being compared. But I would like to know why sometimes only one sequence shows up. In fact, one time only one sequence showed up and it was just an "I". Not much of a sequence. Or is this just an artifact of the graphics information extraction process?
