Hello all,
----------------------------------------I noticed that tasks that I am running have different dates. For example: I am running an MCM tasks that is due on the 20th and FightAIDs that is due on the 18th. When I scrolled down I saw that BOINC is running those tasks based on they order it received it instead of running the ones that have closest due dates. Is this something that BOINC normally does? Thanks ![]() |

vlado101, fyi, the agent runs fifo, first in first out by default. Only when this would lead to work not being completed in time will it switch to edf, earliest deadline first. It checks the required order appropriateness very frequent, the reason being for instance that tasks could suddenly start running much longer than initially projected, or a task is received with a shorter deadline than normal, the formula around twice as long as the total work in the buffer for each cpu thread. In example, a task with a 2 day deadline will be prioritized if the work buffer is 1 day deep. Generally, not our concern, also because there's a certain grace period and server side checking if an extra copy has become redundant. The agent with the redundant task will then be told to abort the task.

Also, the MCM return date is shorter.... it's 7 days (I think) vs 10 days for other projects (FAAH, CEP2, etc).
