Re: BOINC Transitioner offline

Woohoo, another update, we have completed the second step of the updates. These steps did not take the 2 hours I expected so that is good. The third and forth steps are expected to take 2 hours each also. Once these are complete we will be able to turn things back online. I am hopeful these steps will go quicker as the second step did.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Re: BOINC Transitioner offline

Step 3 just completed, I am going to start step 4, which is the final step before turning things back on. This could take an hour to complete, but worst case is 2 hours as mentioned before.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Re: BOINC Transitioner offline

This is how ALL Boinc projects should be communicating!
+1000

That's something that CPDN or Rosetta at the very list could take as an example.

Your work is deeply appreciated!!!!

Re: BOINC Transitioner offline

Step 4 is complete. All the steps for the database are complete. I will be starting some of the BOINC tasks online in a few moments. I will first be starting some of the backend processes to make sure they work properly.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Re: BOINC Transitioner offline

Things are looking good. I am about to turn back on sending of work and allowing uploads. Please note that since there was a long period where both were off, members may experience back off messages due to the high load. There are still tasks to do behind the scenes and I will be working on those after starting things back up. Please let me know if you encounter any issues here.

Thank you again for your patience,
-Uplinger

Re: BOINC Transitioner offline

Indeed things are looking good. I was able to upload my pending WUs and got new WUs that are "Ready to Start". Since the Results Page is not available yet (nightly site update), I can't tell if the Pending Validations are resolved (I'll edit this post once the site is available again).
Keith, thanks for the effort to keep this project going.

[EDIT] The Pending Validations seem on the results page seem to have caught up also

Re: BOINC Transitioner offline

Yeah, todays stats are going to be rather small :P Also, for members with Pending Validations, these will take a little bit of time to catch up. The transitioner has been off for almost 24 hours, which prevents work from being validated. It had almost 1million results to transition when I started it back up. It will probably take 6 - 8 hours for validation to catch up. Don't hold me to the 6-8 hours as that is a complete estimate.

Note: I will be updating the news article to let everyone know the maintenance is complete.

Thanks again for your patience,
-Uplinger

Re: BOINC Transitioner offline

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all these updates. I came rather late to all of this and it is wonderful to see how informed you have let us be.
