Not specifically the BOINC Screen saver but is there something I am missing if no system power management options are engaging when my system is busy processing work units? IE screen saver does not engage and (thankfully) my system did not shutdown or go into standby on me... I have moved myself into a high performance power setting anyhow but I do want the screensaver to actually function (blank is fine).
Any ideas? Thank you |

Generally, this applying to boinc, the system screensaving time has to be set a bit shorter than the one for the agent. Since the agent screensaver can eat a few percent of cpu time, and have the gpgpu burning juice, set mine to blank, 3 minutes and the 'on resume, display logon screen'. Under power options in the 'plugged in' column got
dim the display - never turn off display - 10 minutes put computer to sleep - never Effectively the screen goes blank after 3 minutes and is turned off after 10. The boinc screensavers have an option to go blank too after showing the graphics for a while. For that, select the boinc screensaver then hit settings which has 4 slides. Some of the 'never' at far right probably should read 'forever' logic would dictate. Not tried to verify true behavior. This is on windows 7 with version 7 agent. |

Where in BOINC can I find its screensaver settings? I have taken to just turning off my monitor as Windows screensaver does not seem to be engaging when my system is working on BOING processing.

Hi Malander
