How often is the progress updated on the Research page?

Question for the techs... how often are the progress bars on the Research page updated? Are they updated automatically or manually? I would assume it is manually since the MCM progress showed 25% for some time and now has jumped to 38%.

Thanks, CJSL

OK, since I didn't get an answer, I'll try to piece together what I picked from another post:
https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/...ead,36983_offset,0#462932

In that post, the following link was listed :
https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/help/viewTopic.do?shortName=timelines#678

So in a nutshell, the progress is updated when info is received from the scientists and it's done manually.

Re: How often is the progress updated on the Research page?

CJSL,

I did not purposely ignore your post. I actually did not see it. The process has been manual for the time being. There are two reasons:

1. So that I can monitor what the result of the script is and it doesn't get totally out of control.
2. The researchers give us an estimated number of batches, like in the case of CEP2, we had been operating under the assumption that 25,000 batches was the total, they have recently let us know they believe this to be closer to 50,000. Thus the large jump, but this value is a manual process that we get from the researchers.

As for the large jump recently, I may have skipped a few days from running the estimator. But the good news is, I have not seen anything that would keep me from implementing it as a daily task to run. This is something that may happen early next week, need to get through the weekend changes first.

Thanks,

Hey, no problem. I fully understand. You and the tech team have been good at answering postings lately, so I imagined that you guys were busy with something. And I pretty much got my answer(s) from other postings from the WCG team. Thanks for the explanation of the large jump in the CEP2 date.
