Re: Future Android devices

I do only use slow android devices, clock rates between 1-1.4 Ghz), because of errors with FightAIDS Vina meanwhile limited participation in WCG, at the moment two active android devices with multiple listing in history. The tablet was a helpful cruncher up to application modification. sad

(Screen with all active devices of used hardware, one PC + three androids)

I want to run them unattended, therefore a mix of projects is useful. I.e. the TVBox statistic with WUProp in last month (summed up 119 hours per day, almost 24/7):

Re: Future Android devices

Wuprop results on arm devices recorded for vina http://wuprop.boinc-af.org/results/arm.py?pro...n=FightAIDS%40Home+-+Vina The available statistics for this platform is very limited, where min=max runtime suggests just one or few results having been tracked. Not good as it suggests rather quick disillusion (the never receding error rate)

Those results for Motorola Droid BIONIC seems awfuly fast! Is that some error or ...?

Also, has anyone tried using a new BlackBerry's with BBOS 10+ for computation? I know they can run Android apps, so just asking about BOINC crunching...
(as you figured it all together by now - I'm freak for security...so I use only BlackBerry & iPhone...)
;)

Re: Future Android devices

There are now 62 different makes of android devices that hooked up to and reported results to wuprop: http://wuprop.boinc-af.org/results/arm.py?pro...n=FightAIDS%40Home+-+Vina

Don't hesitate to add wuprop to your device as a project. The cpu time used by these tasks that run each about 6 hours is 0.1 percent of one thread. The more results reported, the better we can see the median runtime each series needs to complete a task.

If average, minimum / maximum are all equal, it means the device only reported one task, not very useful to opine on how slow or fast it was with all the variable runtime seen. My tablet has logged ranges from 4 to 24 hours and not dependent on validation since the reporting is directly from device to wuprop. Older such as a 5.38 not showing through in the range as the lower currently appears as 7.3 hours, there's the suggestion the average and range is some sliding n-days data, not a cumulative. On the other hand, if you want to know the recent averages, that's useful to know smile

To add wuprop in the official boinc for android agent, open the project view, and if not listed in the selection list of 'add project', hit the three dots right top and take the 'add project by url' and type http://wuprop.boinc-af.org (French volunteers have developed this great project)

End of sales pitch.
